Our Mission

Nothing is more important than empathy for another human being’s suffering. Not career, not wealth, not intelligence, certainly not status. We have to feel for one another if we are going to survive with dignity.

– Audrey Hepburn

Since its establishment in 2016, TEU has been dedicated to promoting the importance of empathy across all aspects of life. Through engaging experiential workshops, informative webinars, comprehensive courses, and impactful consultation projects, we aim to cultivate empathy within individuals. Our mission is to empower individuals to empathize with themselves, break down barriers to empathy, extend support to those facing disadvantages, gain insights into consumer behavior, and become exceptional parents, teachers, employers, employees, and global citizens. OUR STORY

The Empathy University® was founded with the recognition that empathy possesses the transformative power to address the pressing challenges facing humanity. Throughout history, empathy has proven its ability to positively influence individuals, families, societies, cultures, and nations, ultimately impacting the world at large.

In recent years, the importance of empathy has gained significant traction across various domains. Presidents, educationists, Fortune 500 CEOs, and psychotherapists alike have emphasized its criticality. Empathy lies at the heart of design thinking and is increasingly central to Artificial Intelligence.

However, there exists a notable empathy deficit in today’s societies. Research conducted by the University of Michigan revealed a significant 40% decline in empathy among college students compared to previous generations, particularly after the year 2000.

Established in 2016, Empathy Matters embarked on a mission to champion the vital role of empathy and inclusivity across all facets of life. Our core approach involves immersive workshops and comprehensive interventions aimed at cultivating empathy. Our pioneering initiative, The Empathy University®, emerged as the flagship program under Empathy Matters, offering a range of workshops, webinars, and certification programs on empathy, active listening, and psychological well-being to corporate organizations in India and the Middle East.

In 2023, we proudly welcomed Origins Consulting into the Empathy Matters family, expanding our expertise to encompass workshops and DEI consulting and strategy in the United States and the Middle East. With this addition, we further amplify our commitment to empowering organizations with the tools and insights needed to foster empathy, build inclusive cultures, and drive meaningful change.

Our thoughtfully curated programs and recommendations encourage participants to connect deeply with themselves and to adopt the perspectives of others with openness and curiosity, fostering personal and professional growth while positively influencing their respective communities. Our programs equip individuals to empathize with themselves, overcome barriers to empathy and inclusive workspaces, connect with the disadvantaged, gain insight into client and consumer behavior, and excel through mindful regulation in the various roles we play in our everyday life as parents, teachers, employers, employees, and global citizens.

Our previous and ongoing projects have focused on collaborating with corporate organizations and institutions worldwide. Our future plans include integrating empathy into governmental and public policy initiatives, online interactions and debates, and mental health support systems.

Join us on this transformative journey as we cultivate a more empathic world.
